The lovely and eclectic Cocoa Daisy March kit "Ozzie & Harriet" goes up for sale tonight as well as my project kit "Birthdays". Join us in the reveal night fun!
Here is the project kit description and some photos:
If you are like me, scrapping your child's birthday is not one of your favorite things to do. The photos are not always the best - usually bright and cluttered. Sometimes I even forget to take pictures of the birthday celebration and have to rely on family for photos. So I decided to create a kit that would showcase Zach's birthdays as well as a list of his favorites for that year. This mini album has enough pages to include a photo of your child as a newborn as well as a page for each birthday up to age 18. With neutral colors and a simple layout for each page, it will be easy to record each birthday. What I love the most about this mini is being able to see the changes in Zach each year with just the turn of a page!
I know I have used that 7gypsies text paper before - but I just can never get enough of it. It's like the "little black dress" of patterned paper! Hope you are all having a great weekend.

I have the best little boys in the world!
Seriously!
The icky cold bug has been making its way through our house and seems to have found a nice warm place called Mommy to take up permanent residence in! This morning while I was still asleep Nate got up and left me this little surprise on the dresser:
He wanted to give me a present to make me feel better and so he found some of his "treasures" and left them for me with a note in the hope it would make me feel better. I told him what he did was so very sweet but all Mommy really needs to feel better is not presents but hugs from him (and the precious note of course)! Something else that will make you feel better when you have a cold; warmed up apple juice! My Aunt told me to warm up some apple juice and it would help with my sore throat -she was so right!! It works wonderfully, thank you Aunt Pat :)
The desk I have been waiting for finally arrived and I am hoping to finish my room up tomorrow morning, pictures to follow soon!
My project kit is all done! And I am so glad I finally did one for BIRTHDAYS. I am not a big birthday scrapper so this one is a big necessity for me. I will have pictures and a full description of that up tomorrow. That is it for now, I am off to warm up some apple juice and go lay down, have a great night everyone.

March project kit sneak peek.
Here is a little peek at what the March project kit will be made of. I'll give you a little hint about the theme; they come once a year and are one of the hardest things for me scrap.
Hope you are having a great weekend!

Some Monday randomness!
Happy, happy Monday everyone! I am still waiting on a desk to finish off my scrap room, so that is why I have not posted any completed pictures yet. I will however, share a couple of my favorite things from my new room:
I am beyond thrilled to have enough space in my room to include a comfy chair. I stole the "funky" chair as we call it, from our family room & it goes perfectly!! Especially with my little Hambly birds hanging out over it! Even if I don't have time to scrap I love being able to just sit in my chair for a few minutes and relax.
This wall unit is new and I am having fun filling it with this and that. I think it will be the home to quite a few more antique frogs - haven't found what I want the frogs to hold yet, but I imagine some special photos or postcards in them.
Nate had to do a project for school this last week called "creative juice". It was all about creating something from recycled materials - giving old things a new purpose. I told him I would help him put it together but the idea had to be all his. This is what he came up with; "The Schmuzziemobile" Schmuzzies are what we call those little pompom creatures. I think it turned out very cute, and he even has a blue felt camouflaged seat cushion!
It was my turn to post a challenge over at the Cocoa Daisy message board. This is the layout I created for the challenge:
If you would like to read about the challenge and hopefully participate please go here.
Have a great day everyone!

Snowflake tutorial
I thought I would share how I created the snowflakes on my peek-a-boo layout.
It's actually very simple; you will need some red cardstock, white or silver spray ink, a snowflake punch, some silver rub-ons (I used the ones from the February Cocoa Daisy kit) and a few buttons.
Start by spraying the red cardstock with spray ink. Let it dry then punch out your snowflake:
Next you will need some silver rub-ons. This is a great way to use up left over bits of rub-ons.
Place your rub-on over your snowflake so that parts of it hang off the snowflake.
Rub a bit of the rub-on onto the snowflake making sure to carefully rub some of the design off it's backing sheet so that it will hang off the edge of your snowflake. It should look like this:
Continue applying bits of your rub-on to the snowflake in a random pattern. Your finished snowflake will have the look of glitter but without the mess.
Add a smaller blue snowflake and a button to the center of your snowflake and you end up with something that looks like this:
Thanks for playing along! Have a great Thursday!

Scraps
On the 6th of every month I post a new way to use up your scraps on the Daisy Diva Blog. This month I talked about using up the leftover bits from your kit that are not scraps of paper. Here is what I ended up with:
To find out why I used a page from a Pottery Barn catalogue and what my scraps were go here.
It is really snowing tonight, so here's hoping for a snow day tomorrow!!

February Cocoa Daisy!!
This months Cocoa Daisy kit "Memphis Belle" has plenty of red in it if you are in the mood for Valentine's Day, but it also has shades of blue and cream which I loved mixing with the red. The combination worked great for some of my winter photos. And did I mention that the kit comes with a bottle of spray ink!!!
I will post a little tutorial on how to do these snowflakes this weekend, little hint, that is not glitter :)
Have a great weekend, I am VERY CLOSE to getting my room all put together, can't wait to share some pictures!

CHA recap
Here is my quick little run down of my time in CA attending the CHA convention! I had a wonderful time, checking out all the new product and unlike last summer there was A LOT of great new product! It was amazing to feel the sunshine in the middle of winter, I hope I get some sunshine here in Michigan SOON! But most of all it was wonderful being with these ladies:
Mmm...breakfast:
It was fun being roomies :)
Tricia and Ronda looking at some Dear Lizzy papers from American Crafts:
My favorite booth is always the 7gypsies booth, so full of inspiration:
Some of my other favorites from the show:
Crate Paper:
Love these Cosmo Cricket letter stickers:
Heidi Grace and gcd:
I loved these two displays; how fun would those birds look in my scrappy room or hang a bunch of the airplanes from the ceiling in the boys' rooms.
Some Prima goodness:
My favorite was this new line by Basic Grey, I want at least 2 of everything!!
By the end of the show our feet are so wore out! I snapped this photo of Ronda's pretty blue toes when she was taking a break from shoes.
