Time to have some fun with paint!

This is the March project kit that I have been working on for Cocoa Daisy - seems like I have had this idea rolling around in my head for a long time! I wanted to do a project kit that was different, and would maybe challenge people creatively. If you have always wanted to try your hand at a canvas, take a look at this kit, I have included step by step, detailed instructions and pictures, and the templates needed for the flowers. It was a lot fun putting all the pieces together and "slapping" on some paint!

just for fun

Some cards and a layout, just for fun. The swirl behind the leaves (on the layout) and the frames on the cards are all chipboard that I colored using chalk ink, I am really liking the subtle effect I get from using my ink pads on chipboard instead of paint. Plus if you use the chalk ink it dries a lot faster than the pigment ink. Less messy too! Have a great Sunday!

bits of my day (that make me happy)

Nate's toys on their latest adventure:

Zach playing with his big brother's video game:

And the best part playing "bubble" with my boys when it's time to change the sheets (they are hiding inside the bubble)!

I found this on my scraproom chair Valentine's morning,

And this is what was inside.

My sweetie is really the best at surprises and presents - I am one lucky woman!

some thoughts on a Saturday

I am very excited about today, I am taking my 13 year old niece out to lunch and then shopping at the mall, for her birthday. She is such a sweetheart and i don't get to have her all to myself very often so this is going to be fun! She said she wanted to eat at Panera Bread - which I think is a great choice!

I have been rolling around some ideas, getting product together for project kits for March and April over at Cocoa Daisy. March's kit is going to be very unique and different, can't wait to share it with you all! April's will be all about "spring" - and that is all the hints you are getting!

Little vent - this has been an ongoing annoyance for me lately, everytime I get psyched about an idea, layout, new technique, that I think is kinda original, I open a magazine, or website and see the same thing I thought I just came up with!!! It is so frustrating!!! I read somewhere that there is really only so many ideas out there and we just keep recycling them, I am beginning to think they were right!! Ok vent over :0

I found the cutest little jars for my scraproom at Hobby Lobby (promise a pic later).

The sun is finally shining here in MI!! It feels so good to have some warm sunbeams coming through the windows!

After having looked through some of the sneak peeks from CHA I think my favorites are the new lines from Sassafras lass and Basic Grey

Have a great weekend!

multi photo layouts

I have been trying to do more multi-photo layouts, and I am really happy with how this one turned out! It can be a challenge for me to scrap more than one photo on a page. I like to either have one photo much larger than the others (for a good focal point) or make a grouping of 3 or 4 smaller photos. I don't usually do 2 page spreads, so I am really playing around with ideas for multi photo one page layouts. I included a close up of the cluster of flowers, because that little dinosaur brad is just to cute to miss!

46 years,

that is how many years my parents have been together. Four children, 13 grandchildren and still going strong! They really do have one of those realationships that we all aspire to have, and if you ask them what the secret is - they will both say the same thing " that you have to work at it each day, and do what you can to make your mate's life easier" I feel so blessed to have had such a wonderful example of true love - happy anniversary Mom and Dad!

Feb. Cocoa Daisy!!!

I have to say that I had so much fun with this kit, I just kept on creating! The first layout and mini album were for the cardboard tutorial in the Cocoa Daisy Newsletter (which if you don't get go there and sign up!) I want to add a pic of Greg and I each year on our anniversary to the mini album, it will be fun to look back at some day.

The next picture is of a little tic tac toe board I made using the Maya road tin that was included in the kit and some small round magnents. I thought it would be helpful to take with us when we go out to eat - entertain Nate while we wait for the food!

I made this little coupon book for Greg for Valentine's day

And here is the rest!

Fresh paint

As promised here is my newly painted scrap room - it is pretty much the same except for the wall color! It is hard to get a good pic, being in the basement, but I think you get the idea! I like to have a lot of my "scrap goodies" out were I can see them, and it can make a room look cluttered, so the neutral color helps keep it looking a little more neat and bright.

Painting update

The painting is done, and I love it! Very clean and bright! Today I finished moving the last of my stuff back into the room and I had to go out for a couple more baskets. I promise to post pics tomorrow. I did have a chance before we started painting to do a couple of layouts - just for fun!
