"our HOME" Sept. project kit!

I am sure I say this every single month, but I really love this months kit! This is the "official" description: We all scrap about our kids and loved ones, and even about ourselves sometimes, but what about the place you call home? This kit is all about where you live, the place where you make so many of your precious memories. With plenty of pages and a wide range of patterned paper (including brand new Basic Grey, My Mind's Eye and October Afternoon), you can capture the personality of your home and create a "time capsule" of where you live. The kit also includes a fun set of Acrylic stamps from October afternoon and a variety of buttons, felt flowers, and rhinestones from Chatterbox. Pretty cool huh! I was able to include 31 pictures in this little album. I think it will be so fun to look back at this in 20-30 years and remember what our home looked like, and all the memories it will trigger. As always it goes up for sale on September 1st at Cocoa Daisy. Here are a few of the pages:

We have some fun plans for this weekend, I hope all of you enjoy this last summer holiday, and spend some special time with family and friends. Have a wonderful weekend!

Thank you!!!

Thank you all so much for the warm sentiments - I feel very blessed to know such wonderful women! Wish I could scrap with each and every one of you :o)
I am really excited about this new adventure and hope I can inspire you all :) The MMM have decided to each pick a day of the week to post on the Memory Makers Blog, I picked Monday, and, well, today is Monday!!! So go check out my very first MMM blog post!

On a side note a couple of you asked about the bracelet I used for my last I Inspire Me layout, it is from Chico's - not sure if they have any left in the stores as I got it a few months ago.

Have a great Tuesday!

NO WAY!!!!!

That is what I kept repeating to Patty and Beth as they told me I was a Memory Makers Master!!! I was so excited I could not stop shaking and pacing (about wore a hole in the kitchen floor)! I had been talking to my Mom on the phone last Friday morning around 9:30 am when I see a strange area code on my caller ID, tell Mom to hold on, and the minute I heard two voices on speaker phone I just knew who they were, most of what they said after "you are a Memory Maker Master" is a complete blur!! When I got back on the phone with my Mom and told her I swear she screamed louder than I had!! I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to be chosen to work with the MM magazine and to be a part of the 2009 team - I am sooooo giddy!! You all have no idea how hard it was to keep this a secret all week, pure torture :)

I Inspire me time!

The ladies over at I Inspire Me just blow me away each and every time! This weeks theme was jewelry, and my inspiration came from a bracelet, it really gave me an "artsy" feel and I was inspired to play with my paints. I started with white cardstock and then just used my brayer to layer on different colors of paint, then I used a paper towel tube (thank you Amber for such a great idea) and bubble wrap to create the circles and background texture on the layout. The bracelet inspired the circles, artsy feel and the journaling for the layout.
That's it for now! Have a great day! (I will post some September project kit sneak peeks tomorrow morning) :)

A few things from my week

Just a few highlights from my week:
1. We had beautiful weather this week and we went for a lot of walks on the trails that Greg has cut on our property.

2. I am not a big fan of ice cream, but every once in awhile I get a craving, so I spotted this in the store and thought I would try it, this is THE BEST ICE CREAM I HAVE EVER TASTED!! Really you need to run out and buy some right now!

3. We went out to dinner with Amber and Jeff. Amber and I are so alike and honestly I think it is starting to scare our husbands, Amber showed up at my door wearing the exact same outfit as I had on - right down to the color of our toes! Of course we thought it was too funny and had to take pictures. I should probably explain the last photo, when Amber and I get together we act like a couple of teenage girls, not to mention that neither of us can ever sit still, so when Amber suggested we try to do a "charlies angles" type pose we couldn't stop laughing long enough to stand still so Greg could take a decent picture! I think I love that third picture because it is speaks volumes!!

4. I worked on some fun things for Creative Cafe:
I was playing with the clipboards and discovered that I could use them to store my Acrylic Stamps - they stick just great. I thought it would be really neat to do a bunch and then just line them up on a shelf. The second clipboard is made to use as a frame, I like how easy it is to change the photo. I love this new ledger type paper too!

5. I worked on my next I Inspire Me challenge and I had a lot of fun, I played with paint and did a very "artsy" layout - Can't wait to share it with you on Wednesday.

6. Right now I am sitting here in bed trying to get over a nasty sore throat -a real bummer, because I really want to go scrap!

But I have to say that all in all it has been a REALLY GOOD WEEK! :) :) :)

August Cocoa Daisy

Here are my August layouts for Cocoa Daisy. I couldn't stop myself from creating with this kit - I just loved the brown and green combinations!

I created the text circles for this one on my computer and printed them out on transparencies. The tree stamp is one that I designed for the kit.

I swiped distress ink along the tops of the circle grungeboard and then rubbed it in a bit.

This hedgehog is the other stamp that I designed for the kit - he is so cute.

I added a few bits of the green American Crafts patterned paper behind some of the lace cardstock to help create a path for your eye to follow. I love the tone on tone effect of the brown lace cardstock on the solid cardstock.

That is is for now, have a great Wednesday!

No motivation - but we have pie!

I have so much to get done and no motivation to do it! I think it is because most of my scrappy projects are kinda in limbo - meaning I don't have all the supplies or my sketches aren't finished. Tomorrow two of my nephews are spending the night for a sleep over for Nate's birthday, and I am hoping that I can get a little scrapping done while they all play. I have to get started on my September Cocoa Daisy DT layouts, and I am hoping that the beautiful, bright colors get my mojo going! In the mean time I had to pause in my writing of this post to pull this "thing of beauty" out of the oven - yup that's right a homemade peach pie!!!!

Are you all drooling yet? I know I am!

I do know a place where you can find A TON OF INSPIRATION, the I Inspire Me blog has our latest creations up and it is full of so much eye candy this week! Make sure to play along with us, the theme this week is "stationary/home office.
My contributions to blog were inspired by this cute little notebook and file folder.
For the layout I made my own file folder and added some of the bright colors found in the notebook. On the inside of the file folder I added pictures of some of Zach's favorite things at age 3 as well as some lists.

For this card set I was inspired by the colors, random flowers and text butterfly found on the little notebook.

Random layouts and some random scrappy news.

First the random scrappy news, a few things that I am really excited about:

I designed the stamps for the August Cocoa Daisy kit, a little hedgehog and a two step tree stamp - as soon as I get them in the mail I will post a picture of them - they turned out so cute!

I have a couple layouts in the November issue of Scrapbook Trends.

I was asked to contribute to the 4 product challenge in the December issue of Creating Keepsakes. (this was a lot of fun)

Now for some random layouts:

This first one was for the Cocoa Daisy Divas blog, I used some of the new papers from the Making Memories Passport line as well as a few things from the July Cocoa Daisy kit. I was inspired by this mailer from a Real Simple magazine, I loved the two color title, the red and blue color scheme and the strong graphic line along the bottom.

These were done using some of the brand new product from Creative Cafe and Art Warehouse:

That is it for today! We have Grams and Poppy up for the weekend to help us celebrate the boys birthdays, lots of cake, presents and playing on the slippy slide!!! Have a wonderful weekend!
