Ugly Doll!

A little while back when Grams and Poppy were up visiting we did some shopping and Nate spotted this little guy in one of the stores. Had to have him! So Grams got him for Nate and he loves this little monster - calls him "huggy blue". Sleeps with him almost every night. I showed him the website Ugly Doll with a bunch more and he has the bat one picked out for Christmas!

a few layouts

I made these layouts with my Studio Calico kit. The layout titled "I miss this" is a little 'scrapjack" I did of a layout done by Scarlet Namvong - loved her original! Loved working with these bright colors.

Just some fun stuff.

First of all I am so excited about the books that I bought for Nate. They are by Lloyd Alexander and are the Chronicles of Prydain. The series has 5 books starting with "The book of three". I cannot remember how many times I read this series but they are some of my all time favorites. I know Nate is only 5 yrs old and the books are recommended for 8 and up, but I am going to read him a chapter each night and explain things/words as we go. We started last night and Nate was hooked once the main character (Taran) wanted to learn sword play!

Next while traveling through the "blog world" I came across this site poppytalk lots of fun stuff, it's like visiting a virtual flea market!

Last a photo of Zach - can't leave itty bitty out!

That Martha...

...can come up with some of the best "stuff"! I had been eyeing these punches by her for awhile so when I went in to get some black glitter I knew I had to have the bat punch too. I needed the black glitter for some chipboard letters and of course you have to use glue and a foam brush - which gets kinda messy - but along comes Martha with such a great idea she has the glue in a small jar with the brush attached to the lid (like a rubber cement jar) how convenient is this!! She also did it with decoupage medium!! Adding glitter to my chipboard was so easy.

time to be playful

I am the first to admit that being spontaneous and unpredictable are not words that I would use to describe myself! I love my schedules and routines and I have a hard time when things fall outside my normal routine. This all said, I am always ready to have a playful moment with my boys and a rainy day is the perfect opportunity! Who am I to stand in the way of a little boy and a driveway full of puddles! So my thought for today is that you can still have schedules and routines and be playful at the same time!

Just some random thoughts

-I really wish I could spell better.
-I am putting myself on a scrapbook supply spending freeze starting Nov. 1 and going till Jan. 1st (this does not include my monthly kits, and the basics like adhesive or cardstock) wish me luck - Amber and my hubby have their doubts - but I think I can do it!
-I need to be less intense at times and learn how to relax more!
-I just bought a bottle of perfume from American Eagle that smells just like my little boys head after bath time - and I love it! This is big for me - I am not much of a perfume girl.
-Really enjoying the new show called "Life".
-I am looking forward to winter and the "hibernation" it brings.
-MUST update my slide show!

Sophie and Blue

I have two new friends and their names are Sophie and Blue, they keep me company while I scrap, and they don't mind listening to a lot o 80's music!

9 wonderful years!

That is how long Greg and I have been married - and I can honestly say I love him even more today than the day I said "I do"! We had a wonderful night out just talking over dinner (I can't remember the last time we spent an hour and a half over a single meal!) Love you sweetie!

And here we are 9 years ago!

Fun with Hambly rub-ons!

I love to layer, so when I saw this Hambly tree rub-on I knew I wanted to build on it. I used the Hambly and Scenic Route rub-ons as well as the Sassafrass Lass acrylic stamps. I applied them all to some Basic Grey and cut them out and just started layering them as "leaves". I wanted to "ground" (perfect word huh) the photo so I just did some random stitching to mimic grass, but was not happy with it so I used tracing paper to make templates and added some patterned paper inside the stitching. But what I love the most about this layout is the picture - I have been wanting to scrap this one for a long time!

I just can't help it!

I know I mentioned this in an earlier post but I saw the ad again (in the Nov. CK) and it just makes me so excited! So I tried to do a fancy KC artsy photo, but Amber was not here to stand on a chair for me, so this is as good as it gets! I am so thrilled that they used my layout for their ad promo of the latest HOF book.

Some more Cocoa Daisy work from the Oct. kit!!

One of the add-ons from the kit was the alphabet mask set from Heidi Swapp, I used it for the titles on my da Vinci Horse and but your name starts with M layouts. I also played with flocking for the first time - very fun and very messy!
