"A love story"

The idea for this kit was born last summer at CHA when I saw Ali demonstrate this technique. I thought it would be fun to use the technique on a circle album for Valentine's day. Somehow it just seems right to group polka dots and Valentine's day together! :)

This kit is full of "yummy" sweet Valentine goodies from Making Memories, K&Co., Little Yellow Bicycle and Hambly to name a few. The album is meant to be a tribute to the love story that you and your special someone share. The 6″ clear, circle, acrylic album and alcohol ink make it a fun project to put together and it would make a great Valentine gift. The kit can be purchased on February 1st at Cocoa Daisy!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Where to begin?

I had a wonderful time at CHA! I think the highlight was spending time with Tricia and talking over some wonderful meals! As a parent who rushes through mealtime it was so nice to have a relaxing meal each evening (relaxing as in 2+ hours!!). Tricia is a fabulously sweet, genuine and giving person, I feel so honored to call her my friend!
I even enjoyed a couple books during my flights, this one on the way to CA and this one on the way home -yes I succumbed to Amber's peer pressure and I am thoroughly enjoying it!

Our first night out we went to the Creative Imaginations "social", where I met a very nice storm trooper -he didn't seem from the dark side at all!

Then after thankfully finding the airline did indeed get my luggage to our hotel, evidently it made a side trip to Phoenix, we met Linda and Julie for dinner. What a great evening that was!

We also spent a couple evenings at Downtown Disney. Had to stop at the Lego Store for a few presents for the boys.

And we even had time to do a few make and takes. Teresa Collins was very generous with her make and takes. We made this
7 1/2" x 13" album and this cute little calendar album:

These pretty little flowers from Sassafras Lass and Chatterbox:

Here are a few of my favorites from the show:

I think this was my number one pick from the show. These are PUNCHES from EK Success and yes they are low profile and stackable!! Can you believe someone finally came out with a not so bulky punch?

Very cute line from Sassafras Lass:

Some great travel lines from Little Yellow Bicycle and s.e.i.

I think my favorite booth would have to be the 7 gypsies booth, the way they display their product is pure eye candy! Here are a few of my new favorites:

And last but not least I definitely see this group of papers from American Crafts in an up coming project kit!

I do have some photos of Tricia and I -they are all on her camera though, so as soon as she sends them to me I will get those posted as well!

A whole day to myself

I am off to CHA tomorrow and I am so excited!! This is my first trip to CA too! If any of you will be there please bump into me and say hi - would love to run into you! I have had the whole day to myself as Greg took the boys down to VA for the weekend. It was so quiet in the house, I miss their little voices. But it gave me time to work on THIS, before I leave tomorrow morning. It's the February project kit and it's titled "A love story" (or as Greg calls it "oops I married a dofus" -I could not stop laughing when he said that!). There are a few products that I am still waiting on - but this is a pretty good sneak for now (yes that is a CIRCLE ACRYLIC ALBUM and alcohol ink, are you intrueged)!

And this is mister Deli Joe when Grammy came to get him this morning. He wanted to make sure we didn't forget his sock froggy!

Have a wonderful weekend and I will be back with some CHA photos on Thursday!

as promised...

...some sneak peeks of the February Cocoa Daisy kit! Have a great night!

I can't believe....

....that my last post was on Monday! Sorry to have been gone so long this week - just lots going on. I am on a cleaning organizing kick right now, you would not believe how much clothes I have cleaned out of my closet! I had clothes in there from before Greg and I dated! I just really feel this need to trim things down and not be so overwhelmed. I am also trying to get my assignments/projects finished before I leave for CHA on Saturday. I do not have anything at the show, I am just working on my Feb. Cocoa Daisy and a few things for Memory Makers. I have not been on the DT for Creative Cafe for awhile now and it has been nice have a lighter load, (scrappy wise that is) :) I really enjoyed working with them and all the wonderfully talented ladies that make up their DT, but I could only focus on so much at once -especially through the Holidays (not to mention that Zach is no longer taking afternoon naps -we are working on a "quiet time" in the afternoons, I can hardly type that without laughing, Zach and quiet time that's a funny one)! I enjoyed my time with them and I can't wait to see what new goodies they have at CHA!

I will try to post some sneaks for Cocoa Daisy's Feb. kit and the project kit -which is titled "A love story" later today.

Monday ramblings

Happy Monday everyone! I am so glad to have the Christmas decorations down and the house back to normal. It seems that this time of year always brings out the organizer in me, so I have been busy cleaning and purging. While cleaning my scraproom closet I came across this Making Memories desk organizer that I had not been using and thought it was the perfect solution for tidying up the boys art/craft desk in the kitchen. You can fit so much in that little thing! Nate likes the little drawers the best.

I was very sad when I found out that Autumn Leaves would not be putting out a scrapbook idea calendar this year, so when I came across all of these (found them in my scrap closet again - amazing what has been hiding in there) from previous years I decided to go through them, pull out all my favorites and make my own "calendar". Now mind you I did not worry about the dates on the cards I just like them for the pictures :) It is so nice to have that stack of inspiration on the window ledge by my kitchen sink.

I don't know if it has anything to do with my cleaning and organizing spurt, but I am also starting to use the "less is more" approach when it comes to my layouts, I like the clean graphic look, with just one or two well placed embellishments. Along those lines is my latest layout for the MMM blog - go check it out!

Have a great Monday!

All Done!

Here are the rest of the pages from my December Daily album. I had ALOT of fun putting this together, it felt good to just play and create only for myself. The only thing I think I am going to change is the red paper that shows through on the front cover, I want it to be brighter. I also think that next year I will stop at Dec. 25th and hopefully it won't end up being such a thick album. I can't seem to find any 3" binder rings so I am going to have to order some online. I tried to keep the album pretty uniform, which helped to get it done and it gives the album a nice flow. For fun I added a Christmas song to most of the main photos. I did not bother to keep a list of the product that I used as I was in too much of a hurry to finish it, but if there is something that you would like the manufacturer name on just leave me a comment. The pictures are kind of small so just click on them to get a better look.
Well here goes (I warn you lots of pages!! :)

I think this is where I left off:

I love this page! I copied the note that is inside the "gift" Nate made and included it on the page, I love that I have a copy of how he signed his name at age 6!

I wanted to do something to separate days 22 and 23 because they did not match well in color, so I inserted a piece of snowflake vellum, it keeps the flow of the album going but still divides the two days.

This little nativity set was our Christmas present from Nate. He made them in art class at school, aren't they precious!

I apologize for the green card over the photo collage on day 25, but some of us were in our pajamas :)

That's all of it! Have a great night!
