SISters crop photos!

Last Saturday I spent the day with an awesome group of ladies! We all got together through the Scrap in Style message boards - and decided to set up a MI crop so we could meet "in-real-life" . I am so glad we did, I feel like I made a whole room full of new friends, I just smiled the rest of the weekend! We have already set a date to get together again. Here are a few photos from that fun scrapping day!

Mini album made using Cocoa Daisy Sept. Kit.

This little album was so fun! It is made using the coaster album from Imagination Project. The pages are staggered so I layed my front page pic over the entire "front" of each page, this makes it look like the boardwalk in the photo has steps. I just added a few more pics, journaling strips and a little pp.

My Cocoa Daisy work for September!

This one was fun I printed out the title and used a light table to trace it onto the cardstock, then I filled in the letters with colored pencils. The little butterflies are from the Sassafrass stamp included in the kit.

Fun card - I used rub-ons on the ghost butterfly

A favorite pic of my Dad reading to Zach

Love, love, loved this months kit! The colors and patterns are so awesome - of course two of my favorite colors are brown and green! I had to do this pic - my shirt matched the pp! I extended the lotus flower on the right with colored pencil to add a little more color.

Jamie Waters is our guest designer this month and I adore her work - so this layout is a lift of one she did in the "Ali Edwards book - designing with patterned paper" It worked out perfect - the butterflies were part of one of the add ons for Sept. I embellished mine with rub-ons, patterned paper and glitter. Just a quick tip you can paint the back of those acetate letters if you don't want them to be see through.

ScrapJack number 4-Nisa Fiin!

Here is my take on the Nisa Fiin Scrapjack - I wish I would have had more time to play with it, but I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

My inspiration

I love to encourage everyone to really look at the world with a creative mind - so I thought I would share with you how I got the idea for the flowers on the layout below (blowing kisses). I was taking a walk with the boys and I kept seeing these weeds, I loved how the little "petals" seemed to float around the middle of the flower. I drew them as circles in my sketchbook and when the challenge came up - I thought they would work perfect with brads. I am sorry the photo is so blurry I could not get my camera to focus on the flower no matter how far away I was.

Week #4 Challenge at Cocoa Daisy

Week #4 use your stash challenge is starting at Cocoa Daisy! I have to say it feels good to be using up some of my stash. This weeks challenge is to use any kind of metal; brads, book plates, metal rimmed tags, eyelets, etc. On my example I used a bunch of black brads, just the rims of the Making Memories metal tags, and a book plate. I have to add that I love this pic of my little Zach blowing me kisses!

My projects for Scrapbook Takeout

Here are my projects for Scrapbook Takeout - I am their visiting chef for August. They sent me the works kit and this month the theme was chipboard. Wow what a lot of chipboard! I had a hard time deciding what to use! The paint accent in the corner on the card was made using a piece of chipboard as a "stamp". The little note book was made using pieces of a Maya road album. I attached the paper sheets inside with a brad so that they are easy to tear out and replace.

Cocoa Daisy use your stash challenge week #2!

Don't forget it's week 2 of the Cocoa Daisy use your stash challenges! This weeks challenge is to use your Alphabet Stickers & Rubons! Here is the info:

We all have numerous amounts of unused stickers and rubons in our stash.

This week lets use those rub ons and stickers on our LOs, perhaps use them to create titles, make it part of your journaling - mix them up - mix styles and colours, mix rub ons and stickers together the choice is endless.

We have uploaded an Example (by Anja) to the gallery in the 'Use Your Stash' as an example - entitled Week 2 Example.

We encourage you to upload as many LOs as you like - after all the idea is to use that stash.

Deadline for this challenge is - Sunday, 19th August. Winner will be announced next week!

I LOVE these!!!!

I have had a couple of these paint dabbers in my stash for awhile and decided to try one on some of my chipboard, well I am in love with them!!! They cover the chipboard perfectly, no extra "goopy" paint along the sides and no brush marks on top! Best of all no extra clean up of brushs - just put the cap back on and your done! I loved them so much I ordered about 10 more! I also wanted to point out a little trick I use when painting chipboard is putting a piece of double stick tape (take a little of the sticky off first by sticking it to your clothes) down on your scrap paper and then sticking your chipboard to it, keeps it from moving around while you paint it. The layout in the photo is a little sneak peek at the Sept. Cocoa Daisy :)

Deli's new bed.

For the last couple of years Deli has been having seizures - they are rare but very scary, and the last one he had on our bed - which was not good for two reasons - first I worry he will fall off and hurt himself (you cannot hold or touch a dog while they are having a seizure they may bite) and second he destroyed the duvet on our bed. I hated to have to do it but we make him stay off the bed now, we wanted to make sure he had a special spot in our bedroom so we found him a grand little "sofa" just his size. He loves it (so do the boys!) and I am glad he has his own comfy spot!

ScrapJack challenge - week #2!

Here is my take on the latest scrapjack by Meghan Dymock. I have been wanting to scrap this subject for awhile now, and I love to collect clothing tags - all seemed to work for this jack. This layout was WAY out of my comfort zone - but it was a lot of fun! I still don't know what to do about my shopping dilema though!

Use your stash challenge week #1

Cocoa Daisy is hosting an 8 week long challenge - each week is a new challenge on using stuff we already have in our ever growing stash of scrapbooking supplies! I am hosting this first weeks challenge - using paper and paper scraps that are at least 6 months old. This is the layout I did - it was a lot of fun using up some of those scraps! The contest is open to everyone - just register for the gallery and message board over at Cocoa Daisy - OH and prizes too! Check out the "use your stash contest" topic on the CD MB for all the rules.

Great Mommy tip!

I am trying to teach my two year old to use a fork and spoon, well the problem I have always encountered is that the bowl or plate won't stay put and the ones that have suction cups on the bottom don't stay attached either, what to do! Well during lunch the other day I had a brain storm I grabbed a big 'ol wad of poster puddy and stuck his bowl of spaghettios down on his high chair tray - AND IT STAYED THERE!!! It works like a charm! (of course this is scrap related - the only reason I had poster puddy laying around was I use it to hang my layouts on the wall when I photograph them LOL!)
